Deux.
I miss....
- Mini breakfast dates with my husband at Panera.
- Play dates with my Mommy friends in the IE.
- The BEST Mexican food known to man for dirt cheap.
- On the whim visits to Disneyland.
- Weekend long trips to Vegas.
- Get togethers hosted at our house at least 1x every 1-2 months.
- Pumpkin carving/Halloween party.
- "Fakesgiving"
- Annual Christmas parties w/Secret Santa.
- My boss and my job.
- Zoey's sitter/nanny.
- Torrential rain w/hail storms.
- Snow w/snowboarding.
It doesn't look like we are planning to move back to the desert. With friends spreading out and leaving, really, there wouldn't be the same types of memories being made. I am rather happy to hear my former roomie is moving back here in fall, I know she won't be the same, because she's getting married, but it will be nice to reconnect with her once in awhile versus once a year.
Thoughts do run through out heads and we could get a better paying job, but is it worth leaving family (again) and having to stand tall on our own without the help of my parents to love and adore our children. I don't think money could ever cover that. If my parents were to move with us, I think that we could do the move, but I highly doubt that would happen.
On a happier note though, five things I am indeed thankful for...

- Good health, at least last I heard...
- Family that always stands by us and willing to help out.
- Friends that I can always count on for everything!
- Love, the wholesome, forgiving, unconditional love my husband surrounds me with.
- My children who fill my house with laughter, joy and craziness.

Reminiscing Life in the Desert
It's funny when I look back at the Mobile Uploads folder on my Facebook. I saw things I had totally forgot, and I almost brought me to tears laughing. Between my children and my loving husband, all of them combined melt my heart.
He put this together in Kindergarten for Father's Day. I had totally forgotten about this, I know I have it stored away because I am a sentimental person, but because it's out of sight, it's out of mind. It's things like these that truly melt my heart... Actually, my point was I miss his teachers in the desert. I almost feel like I owe them everything for starting out J's education on a good note and because of them, he took off. BME truly shaped my child and I am thankful...
But it wasn't just that picture, it was a whole bunch of pictures combined to make me miss life in the desert. A few years ago a friend once told me, "You will be driving your car and laughing your butt off!" She was trying to remind me that a "good life" was just around the corner, and that the temporary hardships of residency will come to an end. She was my pillar when I needed her. She is a friend I truly miss....
...because of this friend I learned that Red Robin is one place that accommodated our two families and learned to love BBQ chicken. How I miss my Whisky Wrap; I could just go for one right now, unfortunately none exist on this island.
Life here is good, but sometimes it good to remember the good times in a different part of our lives. It may not have been "good" but it sure gave us some good memories....

Something New...
I don't usually make new year resolutions, and so this year wasn't any different. But, after all the Christmas/New Year's parties and junk food galore, I decided to lose some weight as of last week.
Being married to a physician I am constantly reminded about the benefits of eating healthy and exercising regularly. Though my husband doesn't practice what he preaches he continues to lose weight, I haven't got a clue how! He lost weight when I removed dairy and fried foods from our meals that I put together at home, and low and behold I lost about 10 pounds. I somehow gained it back after carelessly eating out and not reading the labels.
Fast forward to today I gained about 15 lbs. My goal is to lost about 15 lbs - 20 lbs. I signed up for an online program that will last about 3 months. I hope to see results within that time... I do exercise regularly as of last month, now it's just to get the eating part of the lifestyle change down.
