Survival of the Fittest
I survived this past NASCAR weekend. Hoooray! :) Mr. Jimmie Johnson won, after a nice crack-up on the track immediately following a caution. *Gasp*

Prayers for a Friend
Please pray for a friend that was diagnosed with stage 4 squamous cell carcinoma. He is in the midst of chemo. Please help pray for strength and for healing. He has fought for our country on numerous tours to the Middle East, and now he's fight for his own life.

Hard to Swallow
Life is funny, so we had a couple doors open though we don't intend on putting all of our eggs in one basket. We have so much things going on that sometimes it hard to swallow. I guess we'll know in a few where we will be.

Sometimes God Has Bigger Plans
Unfortunately the call that we as a family were waiting for came out to be something that we dreaded to hear. The husband can't get the job, as the hospital that wanted to hire him decided to outsource their physicians. We were both devastated, more so me than him. It was just so hard to except hearing that everything we had been praying for was not about to come true.
As in the scripture, one can only hope....
For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. -Jeremiah 29:11
I have to believe in that, in that God will pave our way, despite our trials. I am praying that a window will open, just like the one that opened for his Residency. We still have other options to pursue, but it's something that we both will need to pray about.
At the end of the day we both know God has bigger plans.

Patience.
Right now, God is really working on me with my lack of patience. It's been a really hard test, and I can honestly say I think I'm failing. For awhile I was doing so well, but now that it's the end of July, I am getting anxious. When I say anxious, I mean it, my IBS, nail biting and my other physicial issues went into full swing. I really can't help it, I am a worry wart. As much as I am praying, and asking for patience, it seems as it's never enough. I know it's just time to walk blindly in faith, but for me, that's something I always had a problem with. We have so many people praying for us and with us, I should be able to do it.
Well, just the other night the husband got an email from the program secretary, they are already looking for chief residents for 2010-2011. People have been pushing the husband to apply, but frankly, it has taken the back burner until we hear more from Hawaii. If Hawaii is something that is turned down, we'll try to get an Attending position and if that falls through, then the chief resident will be on the plate. But the only problem with that plan is that the chief resident application deadline is August 31st for 6 positions, and the program will notify the applicants whether they got the job in October. It's an expidited process, whereas the Attending positions aren't posted until January of 2010.

Day off & Good News
I took a day off, Zoey is sick. Boo!!! On the bright side it allows me somewhat watch the Michael Jackson funeral on tv.
Anyway, today the husband and I walked James in for his second day of 1st grade. While we were waiting around, we saw his Kinder teacher and I was sooo happy. We talked for a bit and it was sooo great, she found a new job! She was in the school to help with the Kinder class but she got a new job that starts in Aug in a school in E. Highland. Hooooray! I was praying for her and I am so happy to hear that God saw her through!

R.I.P. M.J.
Such a tradegy that a huge music legend passed away.
I have always wanted to surprise the husband with tickets to MJ, after he finished residency and made it a huge trip. Now that's not possible. :(

Unfortunate Event...
Today was a day that was supposed to be marked by joy and excitement that my dear son was graduating Kindergarten, but I found out some devastating news that James' teacher got a pink slip.
Right now CA is going through many budget cuts and one of them is education. James' teacher was one of pure excellence. She knew how to handle the kids, educate them in a manner they wanted to learn and always kept the parents "in the know". Now finding this out, I wish there was something more I could do... I seriously think they cut the wrong person, the district/state is making a huge mistake....
At the end of the day, I am hoping that somehow, someway, she gets a better job and I hope we run into each other again. She is a huge person in James' life, but now to see her go, makes my heart break.
I am also hoping that CA fixes it's budget crisis and stops making these cuts to teachers.

Back to the Grind
So bad at blogging, seriously, with a puppy and a 1 year-old walking all over the place, I really don't have much time!
I am finally getting around to uploading pictures to facebook. OMG, it's been well over 2 weeks, but the problem is, my dear husband packed my laptop in my backpack, but failed to pack my A/C adapter and so, well, no power here. I am using the husband's laptop, but I hate using it as I have all of my stuff on my computer and none of it here.
Let's see, I have put in my final word on when I am quitting to become that all welcomed SAHM. It is a bitter sweet thing being that I will no longer be working... I don't know. Ehh. I am happy though. I have finally gotten to the point of where I am comfortable just being at home. I have my own schedule on Zoey and there's no crazy mornings when I am not working. Working though, I like how it kills half of the day when the husband is on those 24-30 hour days, so it makes the time pass by a lot quicker.
Um... After talking to my Dad about us moving home, we all seem content with that idea. We have a lot of planning though with the house and the land. I am all too excited that we'll have a permanent home and I'll get so much help from not only my parents but the husbands Mom too. The kids will also be quite happy as James has been homesick since, well day 1. While James is in school, Zoey will be with me, up until she's about 4 when I will put her in pre-school. We have already figured out James' school situation, but I have to work out the details when we get and sign a contract for the husband's job.
Speaking of the husband's job, he's finally getting the wheels turned, meaning he finally submitted the paperwork for his Hawaii Medical License, and so now we have to wait the 6 months. Eek, such a loooong time!!! In the meantime, he went ahead and filed his paperwork for his DEA license. Wow, seriously, I can't believe it... He can write for drugs to be dispensed outside of the hospital, oh and narcs.
Well, it's time for me to cut this short as I am trying to upload pictures to facebook and watch the kids cause ruckous in the house.

Humid and Hot
This is not the weather I was hoping for here in HI, being that I have been already dying in CA's heat. So far this trip has been great. Zoey's birthday party turned out to be great and I got too see a lot of friends and family I don't get to see very often.
I went to Target here, and let me just say, boo to no dollar section (they always carry HK and really good stuff in there) and boo to expensive prices. I was quiet shocked at the difference in pricing!
We went to Ala Moana and I noticed the Lego store is coming to HI, though it is looking to be much smaller than the one in Ontario and Disneyland. It's great that they are coming to HI though being that eventually we will be back here and I would miss that store!
Let's see, what else?? The husband had an informal interview with 1 hospital and 1 clinic. I don't know how that will work out though, as we always have things in the air and we are never able to plan things out. I have since given up and given to God. Whatever works out in the future will work out as we have learned the husband's journey to becoming a doctor was definitely paved out by God. Well, the one thing is for sure, when we go back to CA, the husband needs to start filing for his Hawaii Medical License and then he has to submit his "formal" application.
Right now I'm on a manhunt for Hawaiian print dog leashes. I have come to find none really made in Hawaii. I really wanted to get one for the friend that is puppy sitting Ando. Which by the way, I really miss that guy..... We went to the Pet Expo and saw one Ando look-alike and I got really sad, I can't wait to be reunited with him again!
Well back to my morning......

ZzzZzz.
So I'm almost to my goal of being a SAHM. I have drastically cut my hours even more, when I started I was doing 20 hours, then I cut it to 15 then now I cut it to 9. It has been a blessing to allow me to do this. Seriously, I am enjoying it more than I expected to, and I am so happy to be able to be for Zoey. I am actually kind of sad in retrospect since I was not allowed to do that for James.
Well I need to head on to bed. I am way too pooped out. I actually have to work tomorrow.

Tradegy in the News
Please pray for these families, I cannot imagine the depths of sorrow they are dealing with. We are friends with a brother-in-law that lost his extended family.

Z-Pack - Part II
The kids are both on the Z-Pack, it's weird to see it in liquid form with cherry flavoring. Both kids have had fevers of a total of 5 days! James was starting to come around later in the afternoon. Oh and James is on phenagran w/codeine to help him sleep at night.

Z-Pack it is...
So I've been trying to avoid calling my IM. But today I caved in and gave him a call. I got on the Z-pack something that's a lot stronger than my Amox I was taking just a couple weeks ago. This so-called "Daytona Bug" sucks big time. I want sleep, and I want my normal, happy and healthy family back.....

Pass the New Breastfeeding Law!
Since I've been stuck at home sick, I've had a lot of time to catch up with local news, and with that, the state of CA is trying to pass a new law that will give Moms an extra 20 minute break for every 4-5 hrs one works. Also, it would require all health insurance companies to pay for the breast pumps. How cool would that be??
I don't know if it will pass, but it seems promising being that CA is a very breastfeeding friendly state. Look at the fact that the state is one of the very few that gives Mothers an extra 6 weeks of "bonding time" after disability.
In a sense I'm really lucky, cause I don't get docked minutes for pumping or eating lunch, so it's nice. But for those working Mothers that don't get compensated, or can't afford an efficient pump, I would like to see that for them.
By the sound of this post, I sound like a "Yuppy". I'm a breastfeeding, baby wearing, organic eating Mama.

If I Had No Loot
All this (minus the remote control) for less than $130!
So this past weekend we went to the Scrapbook Expo, and boy was it worth it. I think the next stop will have to be CHA sometime in the near future. Maybe when we have money and the husband is done w/Residency. LOL!
With all that scrapbooking supplies I've been in scrapbooking mode.

It's Been Forever!
It has been over 2 months since I've written in this thing. I haven't blogged on my family one in over a month I believe.
Well, the weather has been nice here in SoCal. I love the rain! It brings such clean air in. Ahh..... Did I mention I love the rain?
This weekend, I managed to get my butt to the Scrapbooking Expo in Orange County. It was the best thing ever! I shopped and maybe shopped a bit too much, but I got some really good deals that were too hard to pass up. A lot of the things I got were 50-75% off of what you'd see in the stores. I guess I'll have to post some layouts online soon.
Moving forth, in 3 months Miss Zoey will be celebrating her 1st birthday! I haven't gotten around to doing much of the things needed to do for the party. I am working on the party favors for the kiddos and my Dad got the location put on hold. Even with that I still have to figure out centerpieces, party favors for the adults and the food. Ahh the food issue.
I must elaborate on this later, I am too pooped out.
